Study on steps to develop affordable housing sector set to be unveiled in Dubai.
It has been reported that post the review policies would be recommended. Developer incentives and buyer financing are topics included for review as part of the study.
It is expected that the study would also define what constitutes as ‘affordable housing in Dubai. It is unlikely that new laws would be set at this stage by the government departments.
It is to be noted that plans are being made to consider affordable housing and define what affordable means.
A team is working to benchmark affordable housing in terms of costs and other parameters and there are some ideas on how to initiate progress of this sector.
The study has been completed and certain recommendations have been finished. Couple of months from now we should see action and possibly new policies but not necessarily laws, in effect, based on the inferences from the study.
